A Christmas-themed Wedding Venue

For the past few weekends, Dan and I have been on the hunt for the perfect wedding venue. Somewhere that would really speak to us and our personalities! We’ve searched for all types of venues but the most unique one we’ve considered was at a tree farm in the countryside.

Before our tour of the farm, I had never seen so many Christmas trees in one place. At least, not in Connecticut! Our first Christmas tree together came from a much smaller tree farm.

Our whole experience at the farm reminded me of the holidays! Coincidentally, I was wearing a red top with an old green peacoat so I looked like I was headed to a Christmas party or something! Except Christmas was several months ago, so you can imagine my embarrassment and fashion faux-pas!

Ultimately, we decided not to book our wedding at the tree farm because they’re making big renovations starting next year and it didn’t make sense to spend thousands of dollars on something we’ve never seen. Unfortunately, the timing was off and there were too many uncertainties and risks involved.

Looks like our hunt for the best wedding venue continues! We plan to see a historic mansion and rustic barn next week. It will be so exciting to finally settle on one and start planning out the theme and little details. To me, that’s the fun part.

Congratulations! This venue looks beautiful, but I definitely agree with you on holding off on booking it – it sounds too risky! Have you found anywhere else that has potential?

Thanks, Ellie. We’ve toured several others that were great and will hopefully make our decision soon!

Are you getting married in the winter? A xmas tree farm looks sooo charming and rustic! I can imagine the holiday decor…too bad the renovations make it hard to confirm what it’ll look like in the future

Actually, we were thinking July, so the tree farm wouldn’t have made sense anyways, haha!
