Did you hear? We had a white Christmas in New England this year! (And I am incredibly late in posting this to my blog, whoops haha).
On Christmas day, my fiancé and I carefully drove over to my sister’s house to play in the snow with my nieces and exchange Christmas gifts. On our way over, we discovered the cutest little village plaza in Avon, Connecticut!
You know you’re in Connecticut when you spot a gazebo and the basic girl that photographs herself in it.
Usually, we aren’t phased by the commute to my sister’s house, but this time around, the decorative Christmas wreaths on the Old Village Antiques caught my eye, which led us to explore this cute little section of Avon that we never knew existed.
Everything was so cute and made me realize how lucky I am to live somewhere so festive and beautiful. Since it was Christmas day and snowing, everything was closed so as you can imagine, the parking lots weren’t even paved yet! Still, we walked around briefly in awe of all their decorations. Beautiful places like this give me so much reason to love living in New England!
Let’s ignore that huge fluorescent orange tag from my brand new pom pom beanie, hahah. We opened a few gifts on Christmas eve and my mom got me the new hat! Here’s a similar beanie from Amazon that’s only $11.99!
The whole time, I was squealing about how cute these buildings were. Like, I’m kinda obsessed. Can you blame me?
Honestly, I have never seen a cuter UPS store! Barns are just so picturesque. Next to the UPS Store was a cupcake shop called Cake Gypsy that my sister raves about, but I hadn’t seen it in person until now!
Further in was a little grooming studio for pets. I wonder if DJ Fuller could be in there working on some animals?
I may or may not be covering up a big blue handicap parking sign with my body, hahah. There’s some behind-the-scene secrets for you.
Can we all take a moment to acknowledge how much Dan has improved with his photography skills? Usually, I have to take extra time to set up the shot for him and ask for certain angles, but this time, Dan was ready to go with little direction from me. Claps for Dan for being the best blogger boyfriend! Well actually, fiancé, but I like the alliteration.
Needless to say, we will definitely be back during normal hours to check out the insides of these stores! And I urge you to open your eyes to the little things in your town that you may not have noticed before. You never know what treasures you’ll stumble upon!
