As a child, I used to play in a little tent — sort of like this but less extravagant and made in the 90s. I would drape a blanket over the top, and behold, a beautiful tent for little Kim! Sometimes I would convince my mom to let me sleep in my tent and since she was such a chill mom, she would say yes!
Clearly I haven’t changed because for the past week, Dan and I have pitched our tent in the living room right next to our Christmas tree! We cuddled up with hot cocoa and watched Christmas movies in it.
Putting this tent up made me super happy because 1) it’s like a cozy fort minus the mess of pulling out the couch cushions 2) it feels way more legit than my childhood tent and 3) I gifted this tent to Dan YEARS ago but we’ve hardly had time to camp outside, so at least it’s being used now.
The tent was packed with fluffy goodness! We lined the tent with blankets and threw a mountain of pillows on top. Our new plaid pillow is from Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Hearth & Hand line with Magnolia at Target! (What a mouthful.) We were going to buy the Hearth & Hand line of stockings too, but changed our minds last minute. Then we decorated the tent with my extra Christmas lights, brought out the hot cocoa, and turned on How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
We haven’t seen the version with Jim Carrey in years. I don’t think I quite understood the movie when I was younger, but as an adult, it’s soo funny! Even though the Grinch is technically hated by all, I oddly related to him the most! Those guys in Whoville were way too obsessed with gift giving!
My koala eye mask is sold out now, but the matching koala slippers are just as cute! Buy them here.
We finally pulled out our favorite winter slippers! It’s the most coziest time of the year!
