I don’t know about you, but the first day of December marks the season when I start to wear sweaters all day, everyday. Sweaters are perfect for the cold weather here in New England because they’re super cozy and warm. Since it’s not socially acceptable to wrap myself into a blanket burrito around town, I figured the next best thing would be to wear sweaters, right?!
Today, I wanted to share five of my favorite classic holiday sweaters to wear in the winter.
White cable-knit sweater
This Ralph Lauren cable-knit sweater is actually a hand-me-down from my mom’s friend, but it’s a classic that I could see myself wearing years from now. Not only are cable-knits considered timeless, but white matches everything and reminds me of fresh snow!
Chunky sweaters are probably the coziest of all sweaters because there’s so much material! Even though the sleeves on my bell-sleeve turtleneck from Hollister are super long, I still love wearing it because it’s so comfortable!
Mockneck crop sweater
This sweater from Hollister is the newest in my collection and possibly my favorite of this year. White varsity stripes are a classic look and the material is uber soft. Deep colors like maroon work well with other winter tones like navy and forest green.

Fair isle sweater
My fair isle sweater was a steal because I had bought it for less than $10 on super clearance in the middle of summer. Now that’s how you score a deal! Fair isle patterns are synonymous to the holiday season, which is why everyone should own at least one fair isle sweater in their closet.
Ugly Christmas sweater
Lastly, I wanted to throw in the ugly Christmas sweater! You’re bound to be invited to an ugly Christmas sweater party at least once in your life and you don’t want to be that party pooper that doesn’t dress to code. Also, ugly holiday sweaters are super fun! Did you know that they make ugly sweaters for couples? YES with two head holes — they exist! Scroll through the widget below and you’ll get what I mean.
