Hiking in Connecticut: Branford Supply Pond

Most people don’t think twice about visiting the small state of Connecticut, but I promise you, the views are beautiful year-round! Here are some photographs from our hike last week. We hope you enjoy seeing a bit of New England in the summertime.

Dan always jokes that I have to “take him out on walks” because he’s like a dog that needs time outside. I don’t want to argue against that, in case he decides to tear up the couch or poop in my shoe, so outside we go.

We always try to fit a selfie in somewhere . . . It’s second nature to us now that we’ve started vlogging!

Oh the irony! I’m wearing Nike even when I don’t have an ounce of athleticism to back it up! 😉

We love hiking along new trails to kick off the start of summer, hence all these outdoorsy posts lately (sorry—next week will be better, I promise!) Although I must say, Dan did a great job finding this lesser known walking trail at the Branford Supply Pond. The Branford Supply Pond was pretty quiet on a bright Sunday afternoon, and there’s only eleven reviews on TripAdvisor, so does this place count as a local secret?

Never thought of Connecticut like this but seeing your pictures I have to say you are right, the views are incredible! I am not sure if there are any local secrets to share about the city I like, Copenhagen. Probably the canals and the pretty colorful houses and neighbourhoods.

Most people don’t! Connecticut is really small and easy to look over. I would love to visit the canals and see the colorful homes in Copenhagen someday! That would be much better than Connecticut.

I went hiking in Virginia once with friends and it was so fun! I don’t get out as much here in St. Louis, but I’ve been thinking about doing a picnic/hike for my birthday this year instead of an expensive fancy dinner out. Love all the jokes too! You’re hilarious.

I love your vlog! It’s very personal and the flamingo can holder floatie is just so cute. You and Dan are so adorable together! Keep on posting these hike reviews, I’m totally getting motivated to go here and I typically avoid hikes whenever I can XD.

The Branford Supply Pond is really small and quiet, so I would never expect anyone besides locals to visit… so that’s understandable that you haven’t been! Hope you get a chance to enjoy the outdoors sometime this weekend!

OMGosh this looks absolutely magical!! I loveeee hikes during the warmer months. If I’m ever in Connecticut I’m definitely checking this spot out! Thanks for taking the time to put this together <3

Summers in New England are the best! All of your hiking posts inspire me to do more exploring in the outdoors of my own state, Maine. It’s such a perfect time to do it, I just need a hiking buddy haha.

Maine is such a beautiful state! Way more beautiful than Connecticut! You should definitely hike around, even alone! Just be careful in rocky areas!

I haven’t gone on a hike for a long time! Looks like you had a lovely time.

I’m more of a beach kind of girl but my husband is more of the hiking guy. But regardless of our differences, we still try to meet in between and try to do things the other would want to do once in awhile. One thing we have in common though when it comes to travelling is that we love visiting museums and getting to know a place’s history.

Love your photos, btw. Stay awesome you two! 🙂
