If you’re reading this, chances are that you might not live in New England like we do. Have you tasted fresh apple cider donuts before? Drizzled local Vermont maple syrup on your pancakes? If not, you’re missing out on the epitomes of Fall in New England! Maybe your grocery store has these items but trust me, the New England versions are unbeatable!
Have you ever wanted to experience fall like an authentic New Englander?
Today’s post is in collaboration with New England’s Finest, a subscription service that delivers the best of New England gourmet foods to your doorstep. Matt and Melissa from New England’s Finest partner with local companies throughout New England and hand-select delicious treats to feature in each monthly box. And if you ask me, they’ve got amazing taste!
Matt and Melissa’s customer service was phenomenal. To say we were wicked psyched (just throwin’ some New England lingo for ya) would be an understatement. The presentation of our Fall Harvest Box was neat and flawless. We could totally see ourselves gifting this to our fall-loving friends during the holidays! Imagine their delight in opening such a thoughtful, hand-crafted gift box! (Sidenote: Don’t refer to how the items look in my image above because that was taken after I jumbled everything around. The box looked even better upon first opening it!)
You’re probably dying to know the details on how this all works, right? Well, each subscription box comes with 4-6 New England themed items, which switch out every month. You’ll be trying something new with every box! You can subscribe to receive a box every 1, 3, 6, or 12 months OR start out with a single box. Feel free to use my discount code to get 15% off your order: lovebirds15.
Our Fall Harvest box came with ready-to-make pumpkin chowder, cider donut pancake mix, apple pie infused maple syrup, and pumpkin spice coffee. YUM!
Other themed boxes such as the Backyard BBQ, For the Guys, Grown-Up Lunch, and Sweets & Treats, can be found on their official website. We are eyeing the Picnic for Two box set next! And November’s themed box is called Cocktails and Entertaining — how fun!
The Pumpkin Spice Coffee from Port City Coffee Roasters had a smell that all PSL lovers could swoon over. Although if you know me at all, you’ll know that I don’t drink coffee because I’m afraid of getting a coffee addiction (you could say it runs in the family haha). We don’t even own a coffee maker! So instead, we gifted this to my mom. She loved the rich flavor and how smooth it tasted.
Our morning began by making breakfast in the kitchen together. We started by mixing the Cider Donut Pancake Mix from Cold Hollow Cider Mill in Vermont, a personal favorite of mine! The process was super easy and such a fun fall activity to do with Dan. As you could guess, we drizzled our pancakes with Wood’s Pure “Apple Pie” Maple Syrup afterwards! So delicious!
The pancake mix was a delight because it reminded me of my freshmen year of college in Vermont! On our way up to school in Burlington, Vermont, my family would stop by the Cold Hollow Cider Mill where we devour their delicious, fresh apple cider donuts together! Making these pancakes brought back those happy memories!
For lunch, we made the Pumpkin Chowder from Bountiful Pantry, but finished it so quickly that we had forgotten to take photos—eeep sorry! But trust us, when we say that there couldn’t have been a better meal to commemorate fall, the best season for pumpkins! I mean, when fall comes around, don’t you want to just add pumpkin to everything imaginable?
