Last weekend, I decided to show Dan around Yale University’s campus. We happened to visit during their Spring Fling Weekend event, which is an exciting time when everyone celebrates the end of the academic year with outdoor games, food and music. We walked through a ton of college guys in funky Hawaiian clothes, girls in bright crop tops, and food trucks everywhere! This year they hired JoJo, the singer. Anyone remember her? Or is it too little, too late?

I have been working at Yale University for almost an entire year now. But still, I am astonished by the beauty of this school every day. The buildings are so grandiose and inspiring. It’s no wonder the brightest minds congregate here to learn. Even something as simple as getting into your dorm room requires having to walk through the most elaborate victorian gates.

Every corner of Yale reminds me of Hogwarts in Harry Potter. Apparently, there is a Quidditch team on campus. Sign me up! And the fact that they sort their freshmen students into specific residential colleges like Davenport, Pierson, etc., makes them even more comparable to Harry Potter’s houses like Gryffindor, Slytherin, etc.

My photos are only from a small section of the campus, yet you can see the many architectural details engraved in the walls. There are so many interesting stories that went into the creation of this school, which you can hear about from an official tour guide. (Not me, haha). Not to mention the Yalie secrets. Anyone heard of Skull & Bones?

As part of my job, I have to attend commencement in late May to take photographs, which I am pretty excited about. It has only been a year since I graduated myself, but it still feels nostalgic in a way, seeing people in caps and gowns!

Has anyone toured Yale University before?
